What a wonderful surprise to wake up and find that two of my WhimsiGals have been featured in two beautiful treasuries!

Can't Help Myself ... I'll Try My Hand At Anything!

My crazy patchwork block is coming together beautifully! I am learning a handful of new embroidery stitches each month with Gloria Mckinnon at Anne's Glory Box ... it is a great group of fellow needlewomen ... and it is always exciting to see how our blocks are coming along!

I fell in love with the 4 block quilt "Glorious Splendour" ... which Gloria showed us on Friday, which has been framed as well ... so beautiful ... so I bought the 4 blocks then and there!

I have also been beading my section of "Ruby" ... which I will post off to the next participant in our round robin in the next couple of days.

Now I am waiting for the next doll in our group to arrive!

OOAK Dolls

This is the Goddess Doll I created for Greer of Mefeart for the May/June DUST Team Swap

This is one of my first dolls that I will consider a one of a kind (OOAK) doll as She came about through discussing Greer's needs/wants/desires ...

I really enjoyed the process and would love to create more OOAK dolls for others, creating a physical representation of a goal or personal requirement.

Old Favourites

Today I have been working on a couple of "old favourites" ... I started making these Goddess Brooches in 2001 and they represent the breakaway from designing and making the country calico angels that I had been selling on Mum's market stall.

I knew at the time that I wanted to tap into bold bright colours, to use "sparkle" ... and to utilize the healing modalities that I had learnt, such as Reiki (at the time I was a level 2 Channel ... I have since become a Reiki Master) and Crystal Healing.

It was a bold move ... to step away from the hugely popular country crafts into making these Goddess Dolls - which I hoped would represent the start of "something big"

I have sold around 115 of these 'Gals and given away around 15 as gifts ... all handmade by me!

Originally, I made them only in the 7 rainbow/Chakra colours including a colour co-ordinated crystal chip within each doll ... I then added the Earth Toned (Green/Brown), and Pink ones.

The Purple Colourway has been the most popular overall ...

Yet, it is the Earth Toned Variety that has the most hearts on Etsy ... and in fact when I donated the two Earth Toned Goddesses below in the BushFire Appeal shop ... they were snapped up almost immediately!
